Days of skipping classes and going out for fun is over. My attachment started today at Tuas. Im attached to Ryder-Ascent Logistics Ptd Ltd. Its going to be a 4-and-a-half month of discipline for me. Gotta wake up early and stay awake during my work that is. Well i had no idea where the company's location was so i just took the easy way. Take cab!
Goodness i didnt noe it cost me 10bucks!! and i took taxi from boon lay...the distance might have been that far huh?i tot tuas was near boon lay...in some way it is but the company's addy was Tuas south ave 1....i told the taxi driver and we chatted inside the cab. He asked me whether was i going for an interview or something. So i told him that im having my first day of attachment and stuffs. He asked me whether i was going to ryder, and i was like shocked?! how cud he guessed that right man?haha...wateverlah...happened to stop near the guardhouse and the ppl there was nice to escort me to see the HR Miss Helena. She brought me to this meeting room and briefed me on my working days and stuffs. Then she asked to wait in there for my supervisor. i was expecting a slyvester siah but one alan lee came. in fact he was my new supervisor. slyvester is the operating manager and alan's boss. so alan asked me about what i've studied and how long am i going to be attached to the company. after that he brought me to my desk and just asked me to sit there as he was busy...so the day was spent lazing around at my desk whereby the ppl around me were buzzing with their work. and my desk is situated infront of slyvester siah's seating cubicle.damn...haha...but they were nice ppl...durin lunchtime alan,slyvester and one female colleague went out together in alan's car. i was fasting and they just realised it when we were in the car...lolx....that was funny man...alan arranged for a computer and im going to haf my own line extension too at my desk. so guys when everything's ok i will gif u all my extension number ok?but i dun tink i will be at my desk for at least 1-2months? i will be doing work based on rotation for every 2 weeks at different stations. from tmr onwards i will be at receiving bay to see how its like. slyvester also said that i will haf to do stock count tmr...back to inventory management...sianz sia...haha....whatever i've learnt in school be it on deaf ears during lectures or accidentally listened to the dull voices of the lecturers, it has helped me alot today. i managed to answered what they asked and they were like quite impressed with me...hehz...wat the...haha....i also asked my supervisor whether i can drive the forklift. well he said that the safety head is based in our warehouse and he cant let me try. but he said there's other warehouse in singapore that belongs to ryder and most prolly one day he'll attached me to a warehouse so that i can learn how to drive a forklift...haha..he's a nice guy and he's open to what i haf to say most of the time...
guess i need a rest now...update soon when im not tired....ciaoz
